"Good night Mom," I said as I gave her a smooch. I climbed 12 stairs, ran down a long hallway, and then entered into my Michigan themed bedroom. Since I like music, I selected quiet music on my Ipod, turned the lights out and jumped into bed. It was 9:00 p.m. I pulled the covers over my long body, closed my eyes and tried to go to sleep. The first day of school was on my mind because I was thinking about the summer homework book talk. The light from my sister's room was beaming into my room, and I could not sleep.

I climbed out of bed and said, "Lights out!" I turned the lights off in my sister Lizzy's room. She turned turned the lights back on. I said to her, "If you don't turn off the lights, I will tell Mom." Lizzy did not turn off the lights, so I told Mom. She stomped up the stairs and yelled, "Lizzy, it's 10:30 p.m. Turn off the lights or I will have to take away television for one solid month!" My mom flipped the light switch off and the lights were finally out. Lizzy was sad. She finally fell asleep a couple of hours later.

In the morning, Lizzy was tired and did not want to get out of bed. It was 7:00 a.m., and Mom said,"It's time to rise and shine." Lizzy finally got out of bed to get dressed. She was so tired that she could feel the dark circles around her eyes. At 7:45 a.m., when we were supposed to be on the way to school, Lizzy fell back asleep in her room because she was still sleepy from being up late the night before. At 8:00 a.m., we were still waiting for Lizzy. My mom left for work, so my dad stomped upstairs and saw that Lizzy was sleeping. My dad yelled, "Get Up!" Although I was worried that we were going to be late for school, my dad assured me that I would not get in trouble. Dad said, "you will not get in trouble for being late. Don't worry."

By 8:30 a.m. I was real late to school. In desperation, I asked my dad to leave Lizzy home and take me to school. When we arrived at school, my dad and I went straight to the office and said, "Lizzy made Adam late to school today because she went back to sleep in her room." The attendance secretary said, "Force Lizzy to come to school." So dad gave me a kiss good-bye and zoomed back home to get her. From now on, I will tell mom to come up at 9:00 p.m. and tell Lizzy to go to bed when she is supposed to so she will not be late to school.
