Welcome to my Science & Engage Page!
  • What have you found challenging about science this year?
Besides the fact I think science is challenging altogether, the most challenging part is probably understanding the experiment and the process. The experimental process is tricky for me I get really upset and frustrated when the experiment doesn't go right. When I get upset, I lose my focus and completely fail the experiment and I then have to start over. Its a little easier when we work in groups for experiments. That way, someone else can help me out if I'm stuck. Overall, even if some part are challenging, I think I can easily over come them
  • What have you done to overcome these challenges?
I would typically ask my team if I’m in one for the current experiment. I don’t always go straight to Mrs. Brown, for she could be busy and my team is always there. If nobody in my group knows, I would go and ask her. She is really helpful because she never tells you the full answers; she offers you hints so you can learn it yourself. If I still get the experiment wrong then, I doesn’t matter because we always go over everything in class and were able to retry to accomplish our goal. That is they usual routine in solving a problem for science.
  • What has been your favorite activity in science this year?
My favorite activity would be the body systems sport project. The project was to be a sport, which of course I did swimming, partner up, and create a way to present how a body system helps you do the sport you have choose. I partnered up with another swimmer and we created a poster board including four body parts and how they helped each stroke. It was enjoyable because I'm pretty sure me and my partner were the only ones who didn't do our project digitally; I felt really creative! It was also fun designing how we should post our pictures on the poster and describe them.
  • What is your personal goal in science for the rest of the school year? Why?
My goal is probably to get and A or higher on any test we take. This goal wouldn't be challenging in another other subject than science for me, because science is really a huge mix of hardness and fun. I pick this goal because it kind of frustrates me that I always get A- on all my quizzes, which isn't bad- but an A would be better. This goal I can easily attain by doing a few things, such as studying HARD, paying extra extra attention in class about the subject, and asking plenty of questions. I am determined to get that A in science.
  • What science activity would you like to share with your parents and why?
I would like to share my Newtons Laws of Motion and the unit 2 water powerpoint. I would like to share the Newtons Laws Of Motion video because it was one of the first times I worked with I-movie. Working with I-movie was challenging but fun. Plus, my partner, (Carina) was awesome to work with and I think we nailed getting a mix of facts and fun in the video. The other activity I'm sharing is our mission 2 water unit assignment. I am probably most proud of that because some people in our group were off task. We were finally able to pull it together in the end to create a wonderful powerpoint covering basic facts about water. I hope the video and the powerpoint is entertaining. Enjoy!
