  • What have you found challenging about science this year?
The activity I have found challenging about science this year is forces and motion.. I say this because the balance and net force parts were very hard. The Newton’s unit itself was hard too. What I think was the hardest though, was the beginning. In most beginnings of a unit, they teach you a summary of what you’re learning, and then teach you the basics. With science, we just went directly into the hard stuff, and I wasn’t personally ready for that. Plus the class mostly got this, so we super speeded our way into the even harder stuff. Around there is when I finally got it, but that first month was definitely a challenge.
  • What have you done to overcome these challenges?
What I did to overcome those challenges was to simply think about them. After the first month, that test was creeping its way toward us. I realized I better look at my notes and review them in my mind. After about a week or two of doing this, I finally got them. Whenever I have similar troubles to this situation, I just simply think. This really helped me and proved to be right in the end when the test were passed out. I aced the test with only about 2 or 3 wrong.
  • What has been your favorite activity in science this year?
My favorite activity in science this year would probably be health. Since my mother is a R.N., we hear that stuff a lot in our home. To be honest, I never really got a word my mom was saying. I did get some of it though, and later that stuff came to us in health. I thought it was cool that I get to learn the stuff my mom (and my sister who is becoming a P.T.!) got to learn. Now I finally understand what my family is saying!
  • What is your personal goal in science for the rest of the school year? Why?
My personnel goal in science for the rest of the year is to pay attention more. I pay lots of attention now, but like I said with social studies, science has been a little rocky for me. Especially the MEAP test. My goal is to pay attention and contemplate twice as much as I did before. I will achieve this by listening, accomplishing, and reviewing. That must be achieved. My other goal will to score better on the science MEAP next year.
  • What science activity would you like to share with your parents and why?
The science activity I would like to share with my parents is the world’s water division activity. When my group was given the liter of water and several different cups to divide it by, we never really got more than two done. I wish to try it again and really see an accurate demonstration on how the water in our world is placed. I’m sure my parents would be interested and surprised to see it as well. It’s almost like a win-win situation!
