Here is a link to my Honeybee Pest and Diseases Page:

  • How do you feel you have grown as a learner from your honey bee (DPC) experience?
I feel that I have grown as a learner from my honeybee experience because many times in speeches (that I have participated in) we say how honeybees are NOT little pest. Because I’m only human, I used to think that too. But now that we have our peers and teachers teaching us about the furry little creatures, we’ve matured in knowledge. I feel how teaching about them is great, but maybe we could get more bee keepers out to teach us even more about bees! That would be great. But back to the question, I have grown so much. The bees actually are worth keeping. Before my knowledge of the bees, I thought I should just swat them with my hand. But now I would feed it, give it shelter. My knowledge has grown so much.
  • Did your group work well together? Why or why not?
My group worked well together. If I were to demonstrate that on a scale of 1-10 (ten is the best), we probably did about a 7 or 8. The amount of work and effort put in was like a pattern. Some days blank would be distracted or not listen, the next day someone else would be distracted. It was just like a mix. But when we were focused and put our mind to it, we got a lot done. Since September, the website group (my group) has changed the header, color and format, added at least ten pages to the website, and have cleaned it up from previous mistakes. Overall the website looks much better. For that to happen, we needed a good group. Which we were. So like I said, about a 7 or 8 would be the number.
  • What has been your favorite part of this challenge
My favorite part of the challenge was the errors! Let me explain myself. When the website creator software wasn’t being kid-friendly, our team would have to dig deep into the software and find a way to fix the error. For example we had trouble fitting all the pages in a nice, neat, and organized tab. So we changed it to all sorts of designs (because designs can change the size) and eventually, after enough time was put into it, we fixed it! These types of problems happened a lot. But we overcame them.
  • What is your overall individual goal for this class?
My overall individual goal for this class is to fix the website up so much, the average person couldn’t tell kids made. This means interviewing other people and making the website the best website it can be. How I can achieve this is to have me and the group make the website stylish. We can add cool fonts, professional looking content, more pictures (way more pictures actually, better put that on my to-do list!), more links, and cleaning it up so that there’s no typos, errors, etc.
