The Watsons go to Birmingham-1963 summery

The Watsons go to Birmingham-1963 by Christopher Paul Curtis is all about how people change. Kenny is the teller of the story, Byron is a mean bully, and Joey is ready run to Byron’s aid. One day the family decides to go to Birmingham, Alabama because their son Byron is taking being mean to the next level. When they arrive they have a nice time at first but then on a day they were going to go swimming Kenny almost drowns by the “Wool Pooh” but Byron saved him. The next day Joey goes to Sunday school with a bunch of kids. There is a bombing in the church and four girls die. Kenny thought that Joey was dead so he left the church not wanting to see the “Wool Pooh” take her away. It turned out that she was not dead but the Watsons left because they did not want anyone to get hurt. In the end Kenny becomes not as shell shocked because of Byron and Byron becomes a nicer kid. The Watson go to Birmingham-1963 is all about a historic tragedy.
