The First Indoor Game

1-0 in a soccer game is not the ideal situation for the losing team. Too bad, because when I looked at the scoreboard, that’s what I saw. Right when I was thinking that, a ball struck the post. Since it was a 7:00 game, the noise seemed to wake us all up. I don’t know how it happened, but suddenly we were winning 1-2! One of the goals was a random scramble off a corner kick with 6 kids shooting simultaneously. Pretty ugly, but the ball went in the net. The next goal was nice. Lincoln, our forward, shot it in off a free kick and the ball sailed maybe a foot over their goalkeeper’s head. If their goalie was a beanpole like Alex, ours, he would have caught it easily. But unfortunately, when they started the game up again, they were smart. They dribbled around on their side of the field, sure not to give the ball away. They waited until we were very unorganized, then attacked. A sure breakaway because our defenders moved up to help take the ball back. They scored, and we should be lucky that there was no time left for anyone to score more. The game ended 2-2, but I think we all had a good time.
