What have you found challenging about math this year?
I think that the most challenging thing for me is dividing fractions. It is hard to know what to simplify, and what to divide. I got this section wrong the most on mixed quizzes (3 times). So I practiced dividing fractions.
What have you done to overcome these challenges?
Whenever I get to a dividing fractions problem on a mixed quiz, I slow down and focus more on what I am supposed to do. I haven't gotten this problem wrong since I got my report. I have gotten better at dividing fractions, and rarely get confused.
What are you most proud of in math this year? Explain why
I am proud of how I keep up with the rest of the class. Last year and the beginning of this year, I was slow to learn the new concepts. Though through this year, I have made improvements with my overall speed, and kept up with what we were doing. I was also slow in 3rd grade, and it got me a lot of homework.
What is your personal goal in math for the rest of the school year? Why?
My personal goal is to multiply faster. I multiply well, but slowly. I am going to try to not think about the answer, but just write what first pops into my mind. 95% of the time it will be the right answer. I will also target this on IXL every week from now on.
